Thank you for your interest in Portland Japanese Garden’s estate planning program and the Phoenix Legacy Society.
We’ve created the Phoenix Legacy Society (formerly Golden Crane Legacy Society) to help you make sense of the estate planning process and align your plan with your philanthropic interests. The Society is also a way for us to thank those generous individuals who choose to honor the Garden in this in this very meaningful way. Your participation in the Phoenix Legacy Society will ensure the fulfillment of our mission for generations to come: bringing the ideals of Portland Japanese Garden to the world: art of craft, connection to nature, experience of peace.
Phoenix Legacy Society member’s names are recognized in the The Garden Path magazine; members of the Legacy Society are also invited to exclusive events.
How to Become a Member of the Phoenix Legacy Society
Becoming a member is simple! You can call or write the Garden to tell us you have included Portland Japanese Garden as a beneficiary in your estate plan.
Please let us know the following:
- I am considering becoming a member of the Phoenix Legacy Society
- I have already placed the Garden as a beneficiary in my estate plan
- I would like to talk to someone about estate planning
If you have already, or plan to name the Garden as an estate beneficiary, providing us with a copy of the relevant page of your will or trust document, or with a simple “memo or understanding” will ensure you receive the benefits of Phoenix Legacy Society membership throughout your lifetime. A sample form for a non-binding memo of understanding is available here.
