“連” (ren) – Forging a Sense of Solidarity

Go behind the scenes with Aki Nakanishi, Arlene Schnitzer of Culture, Art, and Education, to learn about this exhibition’s significance and how our community collaborated to bring this art to our Garden.

Aki Nakanishi gives a behind the scenes look at four pieces by internationally recognized ceramic artist and sculptor, Sueharu Fukami from Kyoto. These pieces on loan to the Garden by two Portland-based collectors for the art exhibition, “連” (ren) – Forging a Sense of Solidarity. Tune in to learn about the history of the artist, inspiration for the natural, organic style and renowned porcelain glaze, and Japanese tradition.
